    Canon 7D MKII not opening .CR2 RAW files in windows 10

    Same here. I could open .cr2 from my 60D, 70D and EOS-M. my EOS-M3 files will not show any preview. I can only view through Lightroom. It's extremely frustrating for quick browsing and deleting or sorting.

    Something has happened with the new Canon models. Some adjustment has taken place in the last year with their RAW format, and windows 10 hates it. I've tried every codec update I can find, and even reinstalled the canon raw utility. no go.

    I updated the codec for my Sony A7ii, and bingo! no problem. EXTREMELY frustrating issue with Canon/Win10 something so simple causes much extra time to be wasted.

    Same thing with my new Canon eos 80d. Cannot open my raw files now. in windows 10.
