Windows 10: Canon Image class MF632Cdw printer

Hello,

I recently upgraded my computer to an HP, and my printer setting options have changed. My printer is a new Canon Image ClassMF632Cdw laser printer. All that is available is a very basic setting, auto color, auto paper select, and paper tray. How can I access the advanced settings for my printer? I need to be able to change my paper settings, for heavy paper, and coated paper, and color quality and such. Is there a resolution for this?

Mt canon printer will not connect to my asus laptop. I have spent countless hours on the phone with Canon techs, and they even sent a brand new printer, only to have the same problems. even driver support could not help with the problem. For some reason
when connecting to the router, the printer selects a different ip address from the computer.

I have tried connecting with a usb cord, and nothing....

Driver support had me try every usb port on my computer, and no luck. I am wondering a couple of things:

Apparently the printer runs on usb 2.0...is a usb 2.0 cable different from a usb 3.0 cable?

Could it just be a defective cable?

Any suggestions?

Scanning finction not working on my Canon Image Class MF3240 using Windows 10

I have an Image Class MF3240 Multi-Function Copier-Printer-Scanner. Since I upgraded to Windows 10 I am not able to scan documents. The Printer and Copier functions work OK. Any suggestions on how I can remedy this? I have the latest driver for Windows
10 from the Canon website installed. Thank you

Hi Jeff

A USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 cable are slightly different, but that should not stop your printer from printing

Click your Start Button, then just type cmd and hit Enter

Paste this command and hit Enter:

ipconfig /all

In the resulting list you will find the details of your WiFi connection

Look for the IP address marked preferred (see image below

Note down that IP address

On the control Panel on the body of your Printer you should be able to set a static IPv4 address - see the instructions below on the Canon website

Set that static IP address to the same as your PC, except change the last number

For example if your PC is 192.168.8.100 make your Printer 192.168.8.102

Once that is done, go into Devices and Printers on your PC and choose Add New Printer - Network Printer and see if your PC can pick up that printer wirelessly
