Windows 10: Canon MF3240 Printer and Windows 10

Hi,

I have a Canon Imageclass MF3240 printer and a Laptop with Windows 10

I am trying to use it to print and scan.


When I connect to the laptop it does not plug and play.

Issue #1: In device manager no printer icons or unknown devices


So went ahead and downloaded the windows 10 64it MF3240 drivers from the Canon website

Installed prenter drivers using ContrlPane;l > devices > Printer > Add New Printer > Have disk > Download driver.

I can now see the printer as MF3240 series in the device Mgr

Issue #2: Cannot print the test page or any page. Gives Error: Printer in Error state

Removed the device from the Printers and individually install the .INF files by right-clicking each file in the downloaded driver folder.

'Issue #3: Cannot see andy print or print the test page or any page.

Removed the device and tried to install the Windows 7 64bit driver for the printer

I can now see the printer as MF3240 series in the device Mgr

Issue #4 Cannot print the test page or any page. Gives Error: Printer in Error state


Changed the printer cable to see if that was the issue ...No printer was not the issue

I have trying for some time and looking up forums everywhere and tried all the above with no success.

I do not wish to throw the printer. If anyone and guide me so that I can print and scan on this printer

Can't print with Canon imageclass MF3240 printer

Thanks for your help and I appreciate your patience. I followed your directions to the nth degree including trying to run the program in compatibility mode. It appears the driver loaded, and when I went to Settings, under Other Devices I saw the Canon
icon. When I double clicked on it, the only option was to remove it (I didn't). Then I selected "Add Bluetooth or other Device" and selected "Add a Device" and then I selected "Bluetooth" "Wireless Display..." and "Everything Else". None of these discovered
a Canon device. Then I went to Devices and Printers and tried to "Add a Printer." Since no printers showed up, I selected "The printer that I want isn't listed." Then I selected each of the options from "My printer is a little older. Help me find it" to
"Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings" and again no Canon or Canon MF3240 was found.

I also searched for Device Manager. I found Software devices and two MF3240 items: Canon MF3240 and Canon MF3240(Fax). The Canon MF3240 was for the Scanner program.

Do you have more suggestions?

Canon MF3240 Printer and Windows 10

Hello, I have a Canon image CLASS MF3240 printer. I downloaded a driver for Windows 10 from the Canon site. My computer is not showing any printer. My computer does not recognize the printer. Help!

 

Can't print with Canon imageclass MF3240 printer

I had MS Office 2010 & Windows 7 on my tower PC. I took the PC to a large company and they upgraded my computer to MS Office 2016 & Windows 10. My Canon imageclass MF3240 printer prior to the install would scan and print with a Windows program because
Canon had not yet put out a fix for Windows 7. With the upgrades, I can scan with my printer, but I don't have the option to print. The Canon printer driver was updated from their website including a patch to the driver from the Canon website. I've gone
thru Device Manager and only found the MF3240 under Imaging Devices, which was the scanning program. The trouble shooter program found no issues. I also went to Setting, Devices, Devices and Printers, Add a Printer, and it took me to a website of how to
do what I just did. While in Devices I also tried to Add Bluetooth or other device, and selected Everything Else. The only icon showing was the MF3240 but it was for the scanning capability. I still have the old CDs for the printer but they won't work since
their programming was for Window 2003 or earlier. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
