Someone seems to have left Canon out of the dev loop for Win 10 drivers. Does anyone know of a workaround, or should I just set up a corporate account with Kinko's? I currently cannot print to paper, and sometimes I need to.

Also, please check out my new book, "Your Body Is Not Your Enemy," written by ex-MSFT turned nutritional therapist!

    Canon Pixma MP 620

Every restart disables wireless connection. You must first uninstall Canon MP drivers before reinstalling as "on existing network" after reinstalling driver. Assume same if for other brands. Must uninstall before attepmpting to reinstall.

{updated 10/1] Interesting to note that an almost clone of this machine does not exhibit the issue. Same brand, s/w, only differing in processor and amount of memory.

Note that Canon did update the MyPrinter utility for Win10, but not the driver (for the MP620).

The following solved my issue including on restart.

OK, sorted it out for myself through an unrelated post here. If you download the 8.1 drivers and run them in Compatibility Mode, it's all good!

So I have the 8.1 drivers on my machine already.... how do I get them to run in Compatibility Mode?

Or do I have to reinstall them.... any help would be greatly appreciated. I love my printer and am so bummed that I'm not able to use it with windows 10.

    Thank you!

Right-click on the executable and go to the Compatibility tab, then choose Win 7 or Win 8. Run the exe as normal. *Party

Honestly, though, I just ran the exe that I'd downloaded from Canon's website and it worked. I powered off the printer and restarted it, just in case. Then I went into Notepad, typed in the word TEST and it printed as advertised. That should work for you as well, but let us know if it doesn't.

Download latest Windows 8 or Windows 7 driver. Disconnect the printer. Right-click on the driver and select Properties, then Compatibility. Check the box to enable the list and select Windows 8 or 7 (according to the driver). Also check the Run as Administrator box, just in case. Click OK twice to close all windows. Run the setup. Connect your printer only when you see the message on the screen to do so. Connecting earlier can cause some devices not to install properly and require manual installation from Device Manager. If you want to install the printer wirelessly, you select the relevant option during the setup and then select that this is the first time you install the printer. The program will ask you to connect the USB cable to transfer data to the printer. Do it and wait. When installation is complete and your printer is connected to your router, you can then remove the USB cable and locate the printer to where you want. Not all models support scanning wirelessly! If you want to use the scanner you may have to connect the printer via USB.

  12. I believe that is what I have tried, more than once. Don't know where I've gone wrong. But now I can print from any of my 3 computers, with one connected to the printer by USB cable, even though the printer doesn't show up on my 'network.' I'll settle for that. Thanks again.

Canon Pixma MP620 drivers don't seem to exist yet.

If you have a canon printer (I only use Canon) THEN why are you not downloading the drivers from canon's web site???!!!! Also you can call them during normal business hours and get FREE support for any canon printer. But you should be getting ANY canon printer driver ONLY from canon!!!

  14. This is where I got the driver:

    md64-win-mp620-1_04-ej.exe

Will it not produce a proper Canon driver?

No, like I said, you should only be installing canon drivers for windows 10 FROM Canon's web site. Period. Using drivers from MS can give you more problems then not. Same idea with other drivers, 1st place you should get them from whoever made your PC then motherboard maker, or any cards installed, like 3rd party graphic's cards....etc......For MS products, YES, you should use Microsoft drivers for Microsoft products. But you should NOT use Microsoft drivers for Non-Microsoft products. Canon printers need canon drivers made BY Canon!!! AND you can call them for help....FREE.......They have Great Support for Windows drivers for their printers.
