Windows 10: Can't access anything with administrator password!

Hello,

We upgraded our to 50mbs yesterday. I got a new modem so it required you to put in a new network name and password. I setup our xbox 1X, ps4, ps3, 3 smartphones and our tablet but when I set up my laptop it wouldnt let me access the internet so I set up a new network and it disabled it somehow. I went in and tried to reset it but I need an administrator password. I used to be an administrator but after an update that all changed. I can't restore, reset my network, go into safe mode, or enable my network! I can't even defragment without the password. I have tried every password I have ever used. It won't let me log in. Some suggestions on google gave me some ideas but without access to the internet or an administrator password I can't do anything! Help!!!

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums. In this case I suggest you to try converting your account into administrator. Follow the steps below,

1. Search for Run on
   Windows search bar.
   
2. Type netplwiz in the run window and click on OK.
   
3. It would prompt you for password of admin account, put in the password.
   
   If you have not set any password, just click on OK.
   
4. Double click on the user account you want to change and go to
   Group Membership.
   
5. Now select Administrator and click on
   Apply and OK.

Can't Access Administrator Account - Windows 10

Hi,

To resolve this issue, we suggest that you start your PC in safe mode. Safe mode starts Windows in a basic state, using a limited set of files and drivers. For steps on how to start your PC in safe mode, refer to the following link:

Once you are in safe mode, let's enable the built-in Administrator account on your PC. Follow the steps below:

• Right-click on the Start menu.
• Click on Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type net user administrator /active:yes on the command prompt, and press Enter. This command will enable the built-in Administrator account.
• Type net user administrator password on the command prompt, and press Enter. This will change the Administrator account's password to
  password.
  
• Reboot your computer, and sign in as Administrator.

Once you are signed in as Administrator, let's make your old account as Administrator. Follow the steps below:

• Right-click on the Start menu.
• Click on Settings > Accounts > Other Users.
• Click on your other account and click on Change account type.
• Under Account type, select Administrator.
