Windows 10: Can't access GroupMe account

I do not remember setting up a groupme but my phone number is registered and no password reset email is sent when requested.

Lost access to my GroupMe account groups

Hi -

I have had a GroupMe account associated with my phone number for several years. Upon trying to open an attachment sent is a GroupMe chat, it opened up a browser and prompted me for username and password. I never had a password with my GroupMe account since I set it up in the iPhone app. So I then went to a PC and tried to associate an email address with my account, and it seemed to have started a new account. Is there any way I can regain access to my GroupMe account associated with my phone number? I have lost all access to the groups I was in, and need them to correspond with my kids' little teams they are on.

PS. Sorry I submitted this under Windows / Skype product since there wasn't a choice for GroupMe.

 

There is a GroupMe account with my daughter's phone number but someone else's email. She cannot receive the reset emails so how can she create her own account?

• Go to the Forgot Password page on GroupMe.
  
• Enter your daughter’s phone number.
  
• Select ‘Reset password’, then follow the instructions.
  

If your daughter still can’t access her account after these steps, I recommend contacting GroupMe Support. They should be able to help you recover the account.

Remember, it’s important to keep your personal information secure. In the future, consider enabling two-step verification for added security. This will require re-verification of the phone number each time two-step verification is turned off or on again.

To verify your number if you didn't receive a PIN:

1. Keep the GroupMe app on the PIN screen. If you go through the registration process again, it will generate a new PIN, which could make things confusing.
   
2. Contact support and let us know you’re having trouble receiving your PIN. Make sure to include your phone number.
