Windows 10: Can't access laptop after reset and stupid mistake.

I reset a laptop and went through the set up process. I never password protected it and changed the settings from the default "require password" when I first set it up.When I reset it I just entered random characters for pass and questions because I intended to change the password setting. I logged in and all was fine except of course that I completely forgot about changing the default settings.Now there's no way I can remember what I entered.Is there any help for me?I'll definitely appreciate any thing you got. :Thanks!Brent

Stupid mistake

Bought my wife a laptop, and when registering it for her, I entered an email address she doesn't have access to. (Gmail vrs Hotmail kind of mistake.) So unable to get pin emailed to address to fix it to the right one. Cana anyone help?

 

LAPTOP is not accessible ..... Access is denied.

I am trying to share a folder on a LAPTOP. I have other a number of other systems that have folders Shared and they work fine, but with this one I get the error "LAPTOP is not accessible ..... Access is denied." when I try to access it from a different Win10 system. So I went thru the entire "How to Share Files and Folders Over a Network in Windows 10" tutorial step by step. File and Print Sharing is enabled, SMB1.0 client & server are running, and Everyone has Full Access to the Share. Still get the error. I have tried it with the Network Public and Private, with the same result. Any suggestions ?

How to factory reset Cisco 1700 Router

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.


First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

Break command list: Break Commands

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".
