Windows 10: Cant Access my Laptop

Hi, so my laptop has been really slow literally since I purchased it. I think I maybe got a dud of a computer. Since it came out the box it’s been extremely slow to where I could never get work done, tasks that should take 30 minutes take hours, my browser is always failing, etc. I tried doing the diagnostic tests and the computer passed them all, so the slowness is still a bit confusing for me to wrap my mind around but unfortunately now that is not the only issue. My brother tried playing around in the BIOS settings to see if he could clear the cache in hopes that would help speed it up, but

LAPTOP is not accessible ..... Access is denied.

I am trying to share a folder on a LAPTOP. I have other a number of other systems that have folders Shared and they work fine, but with this one I get the error "LAPTOP is not accessible ..... Access is denied." when I try to access it from a different Win10 system. So I went thru the entire "How to Share Files and Folders Over a Network in Windows 10" tutorial step by step. File and Print Sharing is enabled, SMB1.0 client & server are running, and Everyone has Full Access to the Share. Still get the error. I have tried it with the Network Public and Private, with the same result. Any suggestions ? Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042

 

Laptop problem: Black vertical "sidebar" [Update]

I will try that... do you think I have complete access to replace the monitor cable without dismantling the laptop from step 1? *Eek!
Tbh it's a bit scary.
