can't access my username at log-in screen only admin user pops up

I was following some steps to be able to access shared folders on my local network, but after some changes and restarting, the LOG-IN SCREEN only shows the "admin" username, not my usual username. I don't have the password of the admin, so is there any easy way to change it back to my username?

For me it does not appear a menu of users at the bottom left corner, like in some pictures I have seen, so maybe is there a keyboard shortcut to change users I'm not aware of?

The steps I followed just in case they are important were:

Control Panel >> System and Security >> System >> Advanced system settings >> Computer Name >> Network ID >> "This is a home computer" option >> restart

I have also windows 10 and linux bootable usbs the windows 10 version is not exactly the one I installed in my pc. Maybe I can modify some windows config files trough linux or use the windows 10 usb tools to get my username at login-screen if there isn't a shortcut?

The couple of options I check through troubleshoot menu using Shift+restart don't work for me because they require the admin password.

    :)

  2. Kreij Win User

Current active users that are friends

The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.

    • Click on Control Panel.
    • Under view, select large icons.
    • Go to User Account.
    • Click on Manage another account.
    • Select the User Account for which you want to select the password.

    • Click on Change Name button.
    Hope this information is helpful.

Login with the One Username, but have the option to select Admin or user.

    Hello,

The option to select Admin or Standard user account upon logging in the same username would be a great recommendation. To add this feature on the incoming updates, we encourage you to submit your comments and suggestion on our Windows Feedback hub. Your
