Can't access network between two laptops on same network.

I have two PCs on the same home network. I can't connect them. It asks for Network Credentials. I have tried all of the credentials that I know. But it is confusing. Does it want my Microsoft Account credentials or my login user name and password for the device. Both are 'network credentials' Microsoft, you make our life so confusing. Have tried establishing credentials using Credential Manager. Have also set Network Sharing to anyone on the network and in fact, 'no password required' which WIndows doesn't seem to save properly. Both deices can be seen as network devices on my File Manager win

    :)

  2. NETWORK PROBLEMS: I cannot access to my laptop via network, but my laptop can detect and access to the other PCs in the same network

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

Based on the information you've provided, it seems like the issue is specific to your OLGADELL laptop and its ability to be detected and accessed by other devices on the network. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check the Network and Sharing Center settings:
      • On your OLGADELL laptop, open the Control Panel and go to "Network and Sharing Center".
      • Click on "Change advanced sharing settings" and ensure that the following settings are enabled:
        • Turn on network discovery
        • Turn on file and printer sharing
        • Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files in the Public folders
    2. Verify the Firewall settings:
      • Open the Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security on your OLGADELL laptop.
      • Go to the "Inbound Rules" and "Outbound Rules" sections and check if there are any rules that might be blocking the network access to your laptop.
      • If you find any rules that might be causing the issue, try temporarily disabling them or adding an exception for your network.
    3. Check the Network Adapter settings:
      • Open the Network Connections on your OLGADELL laptop.
      • Right-click on the active network adapter and select "Properties".
      • Ensure that the "Client for Microsoft Networks" and "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" options are enabled.
    4. Troubleshoot the network connection:
      • Try resetting the network connection on your OLGADELL laptop:
        • Open the Command Prompt as an administrator.
        • Run the following commands:

          netsh winsock reset

          netsh int ip reset

          ipconfig /release

          ipconfig /renew
      • If the above steps don't work, try disabling and re-enabling the network adapter on your OLGADELL laptop.
    5. Check for network driver updates:
      • Go to the Dell website and download the latest network driver for your OLGADELL laptop model.
      • Install the updated driver and see if it resolves the issue.
    6. Perform a system restore:
      • If the above steps don't work, you can try performing a system restore on your OLGADELL laptop to a previous point in time when the network sharing was working correctly.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, there might be a more complex problem with your network configuration or hardware. In that case, you may want to consider contacting Dell support or a local computer repair technician for further assistance.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

    Best regards

  4. Can't access network between two laptops on same network.

    Losing network connection

Hello Dear, if you have a laptop or a PC with a wireless network adapter, you can see a list of available wireless networks and then connect to one of those networks. The wireless networks will only appear if your PC has a wireless network adapter installed, the adapter is turned on, and the wireless access point is in range.

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.

    2. In the left pane, under Network Tasks, click View available wireless networks.
In case, If you don't see the network you want to connect to, click Refresh network list. If you see the network but the signal is weak, move the PC closer to the wireless router.

    3. Click the network you want to connect to, and then click Connect.

    4. If you're connecting to a secure network, type the security key, and then click OK.

I Hope you solve out your query soon.
