Windows 10: Cant access settings, update Nvidea geforce or factory reset

Hey so I can access my settings or display settings on windows,however I can access the store and use the pc just fine. However I cang access settings as it instantly closes down,powershell does the same. So does display settings. I tried to update my pc to the newest update and it didnt allow that either. Just failed. I tried updating my Nvidia and the install failed on that too. So since I couldn't access settings I tried to do a factory reset and that didnt even work.it would blue screen and reverse the changes. How do I get my settings back. I'm the only admin and user and havent installed anything as of recent.i made another user via Cmd and I still had the settings trouble there too as admin


it also wouldn't allow me to troubleshoot eitherI tried side by side configuration and that didnt work. I can install anything else perfectly fine and use the pc. However I just cant access settings update or factory reset. PC is working fine but i dont know what else to try. After the scan I also got a message saying "directory is corrupted or unreadable error. Can access control panel fine. Settings and power shell even as admin instantly closes as soon as I click it.tried sfc scan.

How to factory reset Cisco 1700 Router

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.


First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

Break command list: Break Commands

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".

 

Reset Acer Travelmate to factory settings

Hi all, I have an Acer Travelmate with Win10 (1607), I would like to save Win 10 to a stick, then reset the laptop back to factory settings and then reinstall Win10. There is no program on the laptop that requires saving. Any advice or suggestions, not to technical, would be very much appreciated, thanks Roy

 

Reset to factory settings but keep Office package

Hello to you all!

Given that I am constantly on the move, I switched to using laptops almost exclusively. However, I still have two desktops PC that I think are still somewhat valuable (i7-3770 3.40Gh, 12GB RAM, 2TB HD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 for one of them for example).
Therefore, I wish to reset them to factory settings and put them for sale.

Only detail: on one of these two desktops, I have a fully functioning license for the Office package (one PC, lifetime), which is clearly added-value on resale. I cannot find my license key and I suppose that if I simply reset to factory settings, I'll lose
the access. As a consequence, I've got a few questions:

• On the latest version of Windows 10, it looks like there is a "reset to factory setting option" somewhere. Is it reliable? I seem to remember that in the old days, resetting to factory settings was a bigger hassle, with the need to establish backup copies
  & all
• Is the Office license key directly linked to a Microsoft user account? Or is it PC-specific and will (as I suspect) be lost if I reset to factory setting?
• Depending on 2): how can I safeguard my Office license key / access for the resale?
• Bonus: any idea what would be the fair market value for the PC for which I gave the specs (not sure whether I can ask this here, please ignore if I can't)
