Can't access shared folders on Windows 10 that uses MS account sign-in

I have exactly the same problem as is in this post:Sharing between Microsoft account and local account - Microsoft CommunityI have followed the tutorial and it does not work. I have a test folder on my laptop, which I sign into using my Microsoft account. I have shared this folder with *Everyone*. File sharing is turned on in Network and Sharing Center. I go to my desktop. I can see my laptop on the network. I double click the laptop, it prompts for login. I put in my Mircosoft account login info. I doesn't work. It claims the specified network password is not correct, but I know it i

Sharing folders over network - access denied

    Hello,

To troubleshoot your concern with sharing files over the network using your Windows 10 device, we suggest that you run the Shared folders troubleshooter and check if it helps. Kindly refer to the steps below:

    • Type in Troubleshooting in the search box and press
      Enter.
    • Click View all.
    • Click Shared Folders.
    • Click Next and follow on-screen instructions.

    Hope it helps.

    Cannot access shared network drive

Personally, I wouldnt use Everyone. If anyone hacks into you, they have full access to everything and can demolish everything on your raid. I would rather set up accounts and access separately for each person. That way, I know who did all that damage. In the end with a little extra work, I feel more secure by using Authenticated Users.

    If this helps.
step 1 create non-microsoft account and without email and address without admin rights
step 2 share a drive or folder to specific user account (if Everyone is listed, remove it)
step 3 set security > add Authenticated Users (if more than 1 account) or add specific users
step 3a remove Everyone from list
step 3b uncheck full control and write for all items listed except SYSTEM and Admin account.
step 4 right click Start > Computer Management > System Tools > Shared Folders > Shares ... to verify settings and change anything else. You can also see the number of connections to each share here.

Share Folder Permissions with MS Accounts

    Hey,

So I am trying to test out something in regards to sharing, and so I have set up my PC1 & PC2 User to be shared.

Both Users are using my MS Account (rather Local).

But I don't want anybody but MY Account to access the sharing, so I went to Advanced Sharing of the User Folder on PC1, got the folder to share, went to Permissions, the default was "Everyone" with Read Checked.

So I then removed "Everyone" User, clicked add, and went to Advanced and got it to find all the users, it sure enough shows my MS Account User.

I clicked that one and it was now in the list, I gave it Full Control.

    Applied it all.

Went to Network on PC2, I can now see the User Folder I shared. I double click, it says I dont have permission! Doesn't even ask for Credential Sign in, which is what is set in the Network & Sharing Centre.

I even tried other users on PC1, but PC2 wont get access unless I have it set to "Everyone", which I dont want.

    What is wrong?

I might add though, it could be something specific to PC1, coz I did the same thing on PC2 for PC2 User that is tethered to my MS Account, and PC1 accesses it just fine!?
