Windows 10: Can't access windows updates from start menu. Edge bugged, not syncing, logging out of...

So I booted up pc, opened edge, was logged out of all sites. Noticed account says "setting up sync". So I don't have access to passwords and browser extensions not working. If I close the browser it logs me out of sites again. Also if click the start menu for windows 11 I can't access windows updates. I click on it and does nothing also if I try to access through search bar it just goes into an infinite loading. I hard reset pc, reset router/modem and still having issues.

• What is the complete error message/ error code while trying to access the Start menu?
• Are you referring to Mail app/ Windows Live Mail/ Mail client version of Outlook to access emails on your device?
• Have you made any changes to the operating system prior to this issue?

If you are using Windows Mail app to sync mails, try the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: Follow the below steps to change the Mailbox sync settings.

• Open the Mail app and sign in to your account.
• Click on the gear icon (Settings) from the bottom left corner.
• Click on the Accounts under Settings.
• Click on your account and select Change settings.
• Click on the Change mailbox sync settings and check in the
  Sync options.

Step 2: I suggest you to run the
Windows Store Apps troubleshooter.

troubleshoots problems that may prevent Windows Store Apps from working correctly.

Run the troubleshooter for Windows apps

Bug in Windows 10 - start menu and apps not working

I understand your concern that you are unable to access Start menu, Windows Store apps, Microsoft Edge, Taskbar etc., after installing Windows Updates.

I suggest you to try the below steps and check if the issue is resolved.

Step 1: If you are able to access Programs and Features, I suggest you to uninstall the updates and check.

• 
  Press Windows + x key to open a task list from the bottom left corner of the screen.
  
• 
  Select Control Panel.
  
• 
  Select Programs and Features.
  
• 
  Double click on the updates you want to uninstall and follow the onscreen instructions.
  

Step 2: If you are unable to perform the above mentioned steps,
I suggest you to run the PowerShell command and check:

• 
  Press CTRL+Shift+ESC, to open the
  Task manager.
  
• 
  Click File > Run New Task.
  
• 
  Make sure you have a check mark beside “Create this task with administrative privileges”
  
• 
  Type Powershell.
  
• 
  Type the following in the Powershell prompt:
  
  $manifest = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml'; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest
  
  
• 
  Close the Powershell window.
  
• 
  Reboot/Restart the computer.

Edge disappeared and start menu not working on Windows 10

We need to do further investigation on your concern so that we can isolate the issue regarding Microsoft Edge and Start menu:

• Have you tried to searching in Cortana search to check if Edge can be located?
• Besides powershell, what other troubleshooting steps have you performed?

In the meantime, you can download and run the
Windows apps troubleshooter to isolate the issue on Edge.

We also suggest that you download and run the
Start Menu troubleshooter to fix common Start menu issues.
