Windows 10: Can't access xbox 360 wireless adapter driver with changed menu

Hello, I have been using a wireless xbox 360 adapter on windows for a couple of years and normally update the driver by selecting from drivers on the pc -> xbox peripherals -> Wireless xbox 360 adapter. However I have an issue where this menu seems to have changed in a recent windows update for me and I can't access it the same way. I tried uninstalling the driver manually and reinstalling it but you I still need to update it in device manager so I can't get it working.

I have tried unplugging the usb, searching online for drivers, uncheck compatible drivers and look through all the options..

Any suggestions how to find these drivers again would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Usually, we see the “Unknown Device” if the drivers are not installed correctly by Windows on plug and play devices.

You may want to check connecting the adapter to a different port and check.

Also, make sure that your Windows is up to date with the latest updates.

Meanwhile, we can try and install the drivers manually and check.

Method 1: Uninstall and re-install drivers manually.

1. Go to Search and type Device Manager and open Device Manager.
2. Right click on “Unknown Device” and click on
   Properties.
3. In the Driver tab click on Update Driver
4. Click on the option that says “Browse my computer for driver software”.
5. Select the option “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”.
6. Check the list for Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows Version:….”
7. Click on “Yes” if you get the prompt.

Can't download driver for Windows 10 Xbox 360 wireless adapter

I just recently got a Xbox 360 wireless adapter for my computer. But, when trying to download the driver to make the Xbox 360 controller compatible with the computer, the installation directs me to Device Downloads | Microsoft Accessories I know what I need to do so I find something that says Xbox Controller + Wireless Adapter for Windows. So I click on it and it says it can't find the page I'm looking for I searched all the other devices under Gaming Devices and most of them are no there. How can I install the driver for the Xbox 360 adapter when it is not even there. Also there is no way I'm downloading potentially a dangerous "driver" from other websites. How can I through Microsoft download this driver I need for my Xbox 360 controller to work on my PC?
