Windows 10: Can't activate Win 11 after replacing Hardware

Hi.I bought a Windows 8 Pro from Microsoft a few years ago.This was installed on a self built PC and upgraded to Windows 10 later. Activation went ok.I then upgraded my PC to a new built end of 2021. I used the installed woindows by booting from the SSD drive I did not reinstall Windows and the activation went ok.I then replaced the SSD drive with an onboard M2 disk and reinstalled windows 11 from scratch and then discovered that the windows 11 did not activate. I tried the link to fix the issue, but no luck.I then tried to use the original product key from my Windows 8 but no luck.I hope I

How can I activate Windows after hardware replacement?

I replaced all the hardware but I have legal activated Windows 10 that I received after upgrading from Windows 8. I now cannot activate my system.

Along with the suggestions provided by Greg, you can also refer the steps below.



The only hardware changes that can negatively impact activation status once you upgrade to free version are the changes to the:

• CPU
• TPM
• Motherboard replacement

The following changes are examples of hardware changes that will NOT impact the activation status:

• HDD/SSD
• Video card
• Adding extra memory

If you replace the CPU, TPM, or Motherboard you may have to re-activate but this will not require a purchase of Windows 10.
