Windows 10: Can't activate Windows 10. Tried everything.

You need to scroll down to the first time the W10 install failed, its will give you an error code.

No, I download the ISO, open it, and choose create new media for another pc. Then it asks me which device I want to save on, and I choose the USB.

I've done the media creation tool upgrade this pc now thing like 10 times

 

Well this is the first time, It was before I got the notification that my Windows 10 was ready, I just tried downloading it straight from microsoft.

I have tons of different errors after this with different error codes

 

What do you mean make an image of it? (Sorry I know I'm pretty slow with this stuff)

Im not too concerned with keeping whats on my hard drive. Its a pretty new PC and I could put everything I want to keep on a USB easily.

 

If you can save everything you want to keep on a USB, then do that, you won't need to install Macrium Reflect and make an image. Then restore your Windows 8.1 to factory:

You might not have an Asus computer, but the procedure should be the same. Then before any Windows Updates are installed, put in the USB drive containing Windows 10 and run Setup.exe from it.

 

ok i got the stuff i want on one usb. downloading windows 10 iso to another usb.

will then try to reset computer to default settings, and download windows 10 from the usb, and then just skipping any product key entering, will be ok?

Do I have to download the 8.1 ISO to a USB as well?

 

Unfortunately it sounds like you have to and then not sure if that will work, but worth a try.

Is that an option the system restore is giving you? I would try just remove the files.

 

well i tried fully cleaning the drive, and about 60% of the way through it got an error, and now my computer is completely ****ed.. it goes to this blue screen that gives me a bunch of options but absolutely none of them work. cant repair windows 8, cant troubleshoot the problem, cant do anything. rip

 

If you have another computer, you can install Macrium Reflect and create a rescue disc. You can boot the non-working computer with that and make an image of the existing hard drive to an external so you can possibly save the data on it. Then using Windows 8.1 installation media do a clean install of Windows 8.1.

 

I dont care about saving the data on the harddrive. I tried doing a clean install of windows 8.1 and it failed. my comp is completely screwed up now.

 

What exactly failed on the Windows 8.1 clean install? And did you remove all the partitions on the hard drive before starting the install, and select the unallocated space to install it to?
