Windows 10: Cant activate windows 10

Years ago i bought Windows 7 from a shop (disc long since thrown away) and then did the free upgrade to Windows 10 Home.


Yesterday i built a new pc, wrote down my product code and ID from the old PC and created a boot disc.


Now when i try and activate my new PC it says the code is invalid, i spoke to microsoft and they said that this code (that worked fine for years) is blocked, but they couldnt say why.


This cant be right can it?


I wanted to email microsoft to send them a screenshot i took of my system page but also cant find an email address for them.


Anyone got any ideas?

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?

or you could hack it with a crack but please note this is always risky and you don't know what's in the hack
