Windows 10: Can't activate windows after using my old hardrive in a new PC

I built a PC about 6 months ago, but when I put the hardrive from my old refurbished laptop into the pc, windows wouldn't activate. It asked for a code, which I did not have since it was either A. a refurb and didn't come with one or B. I got the laptop about 3-4 years ago and have simply lost it and forgot. I'm assuming my situation here is to buy a new windows key, or live with the activate windows watermark huh?

Activation of Windows 10 on new PC

I've recently built a new computer and am trying to activate Windows 10 on it. I have a digital licence that's tied to my Microsoft account, but when I try to go through the activation steps via the "My hardware recently changed" option, it doesn't show
my new computer on the list, though it does show the old one I'm trying to transfer the licence from. I have signed in on both with the same Microsoft account, and both are listed as devices connected to my account. I've tried signing out of my Microsoft account
and back in on both of them, to no effect. It was a free upgrade from Windows 7, but I made sure to activate it to tie it to my account.

 

new harddrive but old harddrive wont work

PC crashed so bought new hard drive, westgate 500. Old harddrive is westgate 400.(power supply 550). New harddrive is working slot one when old hardrive is connected slot 4 pc won't boot windows, unless old is disengaged. Would like to retrieve data from old harddrive. I have tried f2, esc, delete when booting to activate bios options but this don't work. It is phoenix bios. Would be grateful for any responses , thank you in advance.

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
