    can't activate windows on new pc :: wmic bios get serialnumber returns nothing


    So I made a brand new build with a z790-A mband I wanted to remove my odl device and register my new one.By following the steps, I should find my system serial by executing wmic bios get serialnumber as superadmin in the console.Howeber Asus seems to be at fault here, and my bios has no serial number registered.I registered my motherboard at asus with the product ID to make sure that this is ok, and my warantee worked.But now I find myself in a case where I simply can't find my old windows installation CD seriously it's been years thus I can't find my Windows Serial.Updating the Bios does

    Hi, I'm wondering how I can manually change the Disk Drive serialnumber found at "wmic diskdrive get serialnumber" in cmd? Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Where? You may be interested in what WMIC provides in this area (e.g. in a command prompt)

    WMIC.exe BIOS Get /Format:List

    Note that this is also a way to list your machine's SerialNumber.
