  1. Can't Activate windows on this device as we can't connect to administration server

    Hello,

My wife just received the following message on her computer

"We can't activate Windows on this device as we can't connect to your organization's activation server. Make sure you're connected to your organizations's network and try again. IF you continue havein problems with activation, contact your organizations' support person. Error code: 0x8007007B"

It also states that it is Windows 10 Education Edition. We purchased the computer from dell in March 2018 and it came with Windows 10 Home Edition. At no time did we put the education edition on this. The only thing that we did in regards to education is to link this computer with her schools Microsoft Office 365 account so she could use Word. Again we did not actively get Windows 10 Education, we bought Home.

Now my wife is moving jobs and her account is no longer associated with the school. As a result the computer is now telling us that Windows is not activated, is not secure, and blocking her from using normal apps.

So my question is how do we revert her Edition back to Home Edition so she can use everything like it was when the computer was new?

    :)

    Server Issue with at&t

If this thread is in the wrong area, please advise. Have been using and old, non supported email program (windows live mail-2012) for several years with only a few issues. My provider has been At&t - yahoo with an Ameritech Logon (my email address ending)and they have been unable to fix my problem telling me it is a software problem (wlm) even though the errors I get tell me that it is their server that is rejecting my info. Here is the response when I try to put my email password in when the server tells me it does not recognize it. "Unable to send or receive messages for the Ameritech (drg20308) account.Header download for the 'Archive' Folder did not complete. Server REsponse: AUTHENTICATIONFAILED} LOGIN invalid credentials. - Server: 'imap.mail.yahoo.com' -Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC)F -Protocal: IMAP - Port: 993 - Secure(SSL): Yes
I have been able to read my email for almost two years without a problem, when suddenly the server rejects my info that has not been changed. At&t said that since I can logon and read my mail on At&t.Net that the problem is with WLM not the server.
Are they correct or is there some change that could be made to correct this issue. My Windows Version is 1909

    Device Manager Un-Hiding Hidden Devices

When you connect a plug and play device, Windows Plug and Play manager detects it, finds and installs the driver. Device Manager lists the device with a solid icon.

The driver is only removed when you uninstall the device, not simply by disconnecting the device. When the device is disconnected, its driver is still installed. By default, Device Manager only displays connected devices. When you show hidden devices, note the Bluetooth icon you see is semi-transparent (not opaque). That indicates a "non-present" device. Sometimes also called a "ghost" device. The driver is still installed but the device is not currently detected (i.e. not connected).

    Device can be disconnected when
    • Device unplugged (e.g. removing a USB device)
    • Turning a device OFF
    • Disabling the device in BIOS (then windows won't detect it) or
    • Device failure

    So
    • Check BIOS as suggested
    • Check board connections
    • Can b/t be turned off by a switch? or keyboard combination?
Also possible the b/t h/w failed
