    Can't add child to Family Safety - it says pending despite accepting the invitation?


    I am trying to add my child to the Family Safety app.I sent them the invitation, and they clicked on it, but in my app, it is still saying the invitation is pending 2 days later.When they click on the invitation, it says:You're already in a family group You'll need to leave your current family group to join a new one.To leave a group, select Go to family group, find your name, and then select and Leave family group. When I click on the link to view the family they're in, it is the family I'm trying to add them to. If I log into a Windows laptop using their account, and try to do it, it sa

    Not to Accept Invitation from a Child Account

    Initially, my laptop is Window 8.1, I created 2 accounts: a parental Account and a standard account (born 1969)

    After upgrade to Window 10, I switched the standard account to Child account by adding it in Settings, Accounts, Family & other users, Add a family member.

    Then I link to microsoft account to set the time using in Screen Time of the child account so that my son has been using this account.

    It worked very well the first two weeks. Then, the family safety did not work to my child account any more.

    It turned out that an invitation email had been sent to microsoft outlook mailbox of child account for over 2 weeks. It was supposed that I must accept invitation before 2 weekss. When I clicked "Accept Invitation" It generated an error

    I think because I did not accept invitation, the family safety did not work longer.

    How do I fix this so that Family Safety work again?

    child account pending lock out off computer want send invite

    Hi ,

    My son can not use his computer at all he is locked out. we log in and send a request. Then it just says something went wrong. The family settings don't work it want send a invite .so we were told to remove him then reinvite. Now his invite is pending for
    3 days . we have rung for help and got no were . they said they would ring back after 24hrs but never did.



    Both accounts family settings are pointing to the correct child/adult.



    However:



    a) Windows in the adult account, still say CHILD PENDING, even though the child has accepted the invitation to join the family, emails have bounced back an forth, in both adult and child email accounts saying invited/accepted/joined......



    I'm so frustrated, whatever I do it is still PENDING!

    Child is getting an error when trying to accept invitation for joining a family

    I have the same problem.

    I had a MS Family account on which my son was joined while our family PC was Windows 7 (his PC) and I used my laptop (Windows 8.1), cell phone - doesn't matter.

    Now my son upgraded the PC to Windows 10, we created an account on that computer for me because of MS Family. So, I'm "Adult", he is a "child". So I send an invitation to him to join as family - he accept it in his email (gmail), but then he is thrown onto
    his MS Family account where it's written that he has to leave his MS Family in order to join. He has some stuff on his MS account and what the message mean - it's not clear. He had no any family - he created just nothing! But he sees an option to add an adult
    to his account.

    So he sends me also an invitation - now I have the same problem - I see that I have "to leave the Microsoft family you’re already in". I removed my son's name (Windows 7) from my Family account, but it doesn't change a thing. We cleared all again and I sent
    another email, then cleared all and he sent me an email - all the same - status of other member of family (I'm on his account or he is on my account) as "pending" until he accepts the invitation. We accept invitations - nothing works

    Even though nobody has anybody in our Family accounts, so we cleared all again (on both accounts), restarted the computer, he sent me an invitation again, because I don't care if I drop my account or not... But there is no option... Should I create a new
    MS Family account? It looks like a complete mess...

    There is no option to "leave the Microsoft family" on my Family account. My son is removed from there, I accept his invitation - and nothing again.

    ....

    Now I also deleted my name - it says that my family account was removed (I got an email finally).

    I click again on invitation - read "Try another page. This link isn’t working"

    I guess tomorrow I'll ask my son to send me a fresh request. Will see what happens. So much time is wasted today without any result.

    Why there is no any explanation on MS support about steps in this case, when we see "leave the Microsoft family you’re already in"? And there is no option in support to contact about Family safety issues

    Answers of MS support here don't give the solution

    You can also stop using Family Safety completely, if you want. This depends on the operating system on your PC:
