Windows 10: Can't attach Excel document to gmail

  2. Can't attach Excel document to gmail or yahoo mail

    New PC with Windows 10. I am trying to attach an Excel doc to my email to share.

    I have tried both my Gmail and Yahoo accounts and the programs just don't do anything on hitting the attach icon then choosing my file.

    I tried to copy the contents over to a new document as this information had been downloaded from the internet (my checking account) but it's still not attaching to either e-mail account.

    Any suggestions?

  3. Word and Excel Documents Won't Attach to Gmail

    I recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 10 professional and installed Office 365 on it. The browser I am using is Edge. I am unable to attach Word documents that were created on this new laptop to Gmail. The attachment icon works as usual - when I
    click on it, it opens the file explorer window. I can select the file, but when I click attach nothing happens. The files are not very large - around 90KB. I tried saving Word documents as both .doc and .docx files and neither worked. I also created another
    very small test file with only one line of text in Word, which would also not attach.

    Other file types attach just fine, including PDF, Powerpoint, and JPG. Additionally, Word documents and Excel documents that were created on a different computer but transferred to my new laptop's hard drive via flash drive attach just fine. This is even
    true for documents that were created with the same Office 365 account but a different lap top (I am using a business account on several different computers). It is only a problem with newly created documents on this particular laptop. Everything else about
    Office 365 and Gmail seem to be working normally. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on here?
