Windows 10: Can't boot up Windows out of Safe mode

So yesterday I decided to do some music producing which I hadn't done in awhile (I use Ableton 10). I opened up the program as normal and I went through some old projects I had worked on. The first problem I ran into was missing plugin files from some of my previous work. This can be explained because I had recently purchased an SSD drive and moved my plugin folder to the drive. So I manually re-selected the correct folder and I was able to open some old projects. Everything was still fine.

This is when things got a little weird. I tried to open one particular project and ableton completely crashed. It gave me a "serious program error occurred" message and then shut down the program. I initially assumed it could of been because I had used some plugins that I no longer have on my computer. So I let it go and opened a new project to create some music. I worked on the track for about 2 hours, saved it a few times and went about my day.

In the late evening I decided to continue working on my most recent project and once I opened it, I couldnt playback the song. Ableton just froze and it forced me to close the app and when I did, it displayed the same error message as before. I got frustrated and didn't feel like dealing with it at the moment so I shut down my PC and went to bed.

Now here comes the bullshit. I woke up this morning and turned my PC on to give it another try. Immediately upon boot up, I noticed the system scanning and fixing files from my hard drives. I had never seen this before. Still not completely alarmed I let it run its course and finally got to my Windows 10 sign in screen. As soon as I sign in, the screen goes black. I am able to ctrl+alt+delete but I can't even get the task manager window to show. I decided to boot up the PC in safe mode and luckily I am able to get on. But now I'm stuck, I have no clue what just happened. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Boot into Safe Mode on Windows 10  


I am stuck in Safe Mode in spite of following all the suggested steps to go back to Normal Startup - Like opening file location of msconfig.exe & running as Administrator. The computer I am trying to get out of safe mode has just been updated from Windows 7.

 

Can't boot into Normal/Safe Mode with Networking, only safe mode...

Good Evening,
I could do with some pointers on resolving an issue. I can only boot into windows in safe mode in Windows 10. Normal mode and safe mode with networking doesn't work. The problem occurred after a windows update. I have removed the latest updates that were installed and cleared any pending ones but it still won't boot properly. I have also run the troubleshooter and tried to recovery to an earlier date which also doesn't work.
The laptop is a HP ENVY 17 notebook. At boot it just gets to the HP logo with the circular loading icon and no further and can only boot it into safe mode. Can anyone recommend the next steps? I have also tried the following;

• stopping startup items
• uninstalling hardware drivers
• removing recent software
• running troubleshooters at boot
• sfc scan
• diagnostic/selective startups with minimal services running

Would the fact that I cant boot into Safe Mode with Networking imply its a network driver related issue?
Bit of a dead end really, any help would be much appreciated

Cannot Enter Safe Mode / Computer boots normally

I'm running Win 10 Pro 1903.

Here are the steps I have taken to get into safe mode: Start button, settings, update and security, recovery, advanced startup, troubleshoot, advanced options, startup settings, restart. The computer boots normally, not in safe mode. Any suggestions would be most helpful. Thanks in advance for your help and interest. .
