Windows 10: Can't boot Windows 10 from HD or any removable media -- Blank Screen

Never posted here before, but I've got a real stumper and would really appreciate some help. I'm not an IT pro but have a decent amount of experience troubleshooting this sort of thing.Long story short: I was trying to fix windows update, which hasn't worked since February would get to 99% then roll back, and must have really screwed something up, because everything froze up. I did a hard reset and when it came back up it booted to recovery, then proceeded to system restore. I let that run for about an hour, then determined nothing was happening and did another hard reset. I probably shouldn

Windows booting to blank screen after safe mode

Click these keys whenever you see a black screen:
Windows logo key + Ctrl + Shift + B > report what you see and hear

See if you can boot to the BIOS using the information in this link:
List of PC brands with their corresponding hot-keys

List the installed antivirus software.

Windows 10 blank screen after boot-up....

Anyone have any luck with this ? Windows appears to boot normally until the screen with the little dots on it. Then it goes black , stays that way for a minute and finally logs on. I`ve already googled this and all the answers boil down to two solutions - disable fast startup and change your graphics driver. Neither rly helped for me tho it did seem to be graphics card related.

Awaiting more expert suggestions from TPU !

 

Installation media boots to command prompt

I've just booted from known working install media to see exactly what it does when booting. The sequence of events is...

1. Windows logo on a black screen
2. circling dots appear beneath the logo
3. light blue 'Please wait' screen with circling dots
4. a command prompt window (very briefly)
5. the initial Setup page appears

Do you see steps 1-3? If so, it appears you have stopped at step 4, suggesting that something on the disc cannot be read.

Does the disc boot properly in another machine? If so, try cleaning the laptop's drive lens then try booting from the disc again.

If not, make new install media with Microsoft's Media Creation Tool, either as a bootable USB, on an ISO that you can burn to another disc. At Step 8 in Option One of this tutorial you can choose between making a USB or an ISO.
