Windows 10: Can't boot Windows 10 USB on old Toshiba Satellite C855-1EQ laptop

I'm having trouble installing Windows 10 on my old Toshiba Satellite C855-1EQ laptop. Unable to boot Toshiba Satellite

I have a Toshiba Satellite which will not boot from ODD, HDD or USB!

This laptop belongs to a friend who said the problem occurred following a Windows 10 update.

I get the 'Unmountable Boot Volume' message alternating with the '0xc0000225 Error Code'

When attempting to boot from the ODD the disk spins for a short time but then the Toshiba start screen shows and if trying a USB the USB flashes for a short time and then the Toshiba start screen appears. I have also tried running it from an external DVD
drive. I have tried both Windows 7 and Windows 10 installation disks.

I tried the Windows Fix tool but just got a blank screen. I have since found out that the screen can be blank for some time but now even the Windows Fix tool will not run.

Any suggestions please.

USB:San disk 128 gb
Brand new solid state: King Dian 128 GB solid state

Description:
Attempting to install windows 10 on a Toshiba satellite p850-00e with a new solid state drive I just put in.

I press F12 loading, i get the boot menu. I select usb and I just get a black screen. No prompt to windows 10.

I tried the same usb on my desktop to boot from and it worked

1. boot menu option to be CSM.
   
2. boot priority to be top priority. Made no difference.
   
3. Boot speed is normal.
   
4. Boot security is disabled
   

 

No USB ports working on toshiba laptop

Hi guys,

Got an old Toshiba laptop, satellite l500d pslk0a-00r009
Its old and doesn't officially support win10. However I have it installed and everything works fine except USB. All the ports seem completely dead, plugging in a USB mouse I get no light on the mouse. USB flash drives don't work either. This was previously working under win7.

The issue seems to be I don't have "Generic USB hub" in device manager. Have tried to manually install it using add legacy hardware but it wont take. I have several USB root hub and others listed, but not the generic hub.

Here's what I have tried so far:

Uninstall all USB device in device managers and reboot
Confirmed BIOS is latest version
tried both legacy and compatibly USB mode in BIOS
Download and install generic win10 USB drivers
Disable USB power saving mode
Installed toshiba's service center, no updates available
Ran MS troubleshooter/fixit

I think the next step is to give up, but does anyone else have any suggestions?
