    Hi - I just bought an ACER Spin 513-52N-530. I use Dropbox to store my files and data. I went to Windows Settings (STORAGE ==> "Change where new content is saved") , and when I tried to change the default save locations shown in each of the dropdown boxes from "This PC (CCan't change default storage settings in windows 10 :)", the system doesn't show me any other options and won't allow me to make any changes :-(

    Can´t change the default storage drive.

    Hello.

    I changed the default storage drive (from C: to DCan't change default storage settings in windows 10 :) in "Settings>>System>>Storage, however the Windows continues to install all apps in C: drive. Any suggestion?

    Changing the default storage designation for the Microsoft Windows Store and various apps.

    Hi Isaac,

    The default storage location for the Windows store and apps is in system location where Windows is stored (This PC-> C drive), if you want to change the default location of the apps then I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the settings
    and check if it helps.

    • Open Settings and click on the System icon.
    • Click on Storage on the left side, on the right side under
      Save locations, select the drive to where you want your
      documents      , music, pictures, and/or
      videos       to be saved to by default.
    • Click/tap on Apply.

    The above settings option is available only from the Windows version (10586), I suggest you to check in which version of Windows build in installed on your computer.

    Can't change default storage settings in windows 10

    I recently purchased a Surface 3 with Windows 10. Initially, I changed my default storage options for Documents to "My PC" via the drop down menus under Settings/Storage/Save Locations. I did not make any changes to the default storage settings to any
    other files.

    Now I've decided to change the default to save Documents to my OneDrive. But when I attempt to do so, the only option in the drop down menu is "My PC". OneDrive is no longer an option.

    In fact, I am not given an option to change the default storage location for Apps, Documents, Pictures, Music, or Videos - they only say "My PC".

    How can I change the default storage settings for my files??
