Windows 10: Can't change MS account password.

I want to change my password associated with my Microsoft account. I know the current password is correct as I can sign in using a browser. Problem is that when I use the same password in the 'change password' dialogue, it returns the message 'The password is incorrect. Please try again.'I've tried this operation on Edge, Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Any help appreciated.

Change Password to MS Account associated with my Login ID

Thank you for the response. However, it did not necessarily answer my question.

My PC is on a domain but I don't use my Microsoft Account to sign-in to it. The MS account is associated with my domain login. After digging around a little, I see that under Accounts there is a section listing other accounts, in which the MS account is
listed. There are two buttons next to it, Manage and Remove.

clicking the Manage it takes me to the online MS account where I can change the password using the method provided in the link you sent earlier. I founmd this after I changed the password online using the browser. I did not try to change the password using
the Accounts/Other Accounts in Windows10. Does this method sync the password automatically?

Local Account password changed to Online Account Password

Hi,

I suggest you to follow the steps on how to switch from Microsoft account to Local account:

• Click on search in taskbar and type account.
• Click on Accounts.
• Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Local account instead.
• Enter your Microsoft account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
• Enter User name credentials for your the Local account and click OK.
• Now, login to Local account.
