Windows 10: Cant change my dynamic IP address :)

I cant change my dynamic IP address. Have followed the instructions on windows 10. Problem is, when I clicked ethernet and I'm in my network, I cant find the "edit IP address" section at all. Theres absolutely no option to change it. And Yes, I have a dynamic IP address.

Your experts solution is not changing the dynamic IP address. I have tried the ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew commands and they dont seem to have changed the IP address. I check my IP address by typing ipconfig
/all in cmd to view it.

As regards to the "ncpa.cpl"-solution, its completely irrelevant because I do not want to choose "use the following
ip address" and type it manually. Can't it be changed to something else automatically? I cant manually type in a new IP address.

both are checked and IP address is still not changed. So that's not really a real solution.

So I'm going to ask you, what do you want a screenshot of? My IP address to see if it really isn't changing? I believe I have explained my request perfectly, and the solutions are not solving the issue.

 

Changing IP Addresses

Apologies' - Can not quite understand fully what you have written.

IP addresses at home are determined by your Internet Service Provider. Some are fixed IP, some are forever changing 'Dynamic IP'. Mine at my home is dynamic never changing unless I power off the modem for a couple hours or so. Its Lease renewal period
is actually every 2hrs but as long as its still seen during the 2nd hour it keeps same IP so its more or less renews every hour.

For me to actually have a Fixed internet IP that never changes, I'd have to make arrangements with my Internet service provider... and I can imagine they will want to charge me extra for that or change me to a business account at higher rates than standard
residential rates.

Local 'LAN' network IP can be fixed or dynamic too - dynamic is default & you generally would set it as static in your router or router/modem by assigning its network cards mac address to a particular IP outside the range of the dynamic router address range,
usually near the DHCP setting.
