Windows 10: can't change my pin and windows defender has no virus and threat protection option

I have had this problem for a long time now and its not being able to change my password to my pc and window defender doesn't have a virus and threat protection option. However, windows defender runs in the background called antimalware service executable. I also recently reset my pc and the problem's still persist. also it asks me to change my pin I would say every few months.

Cannot turn on Windows Defender virus protection

I had the same sort of symptoms. In the Windows Security Center, under Virus and threat protection, it said "Your virus & threat protection is managed by your organization."





I note you mentioned the Registry Keys under HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows Defender. Nice spotting, but it seems like there is another key that is causing the problem for some users.

Steps to a solution:

1. Press the Windows key and type "regedit"
   
2. On the regedit icon that appears, right-click and select Run as Administrator.
   
3. Navigate to the folder located at HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender (You can paste this into the address box at the top of the window, or navigate manually using the side directory structure)
   
4. In this folder, there are probably two keys. Right-click and Delete the DisableAntiSpyware key.
   
5. Exit regedit, and return to the Windows Defender settings screen (refresh it if necessary). Windows Defender should have the scan options available and working.

My virus & threat protection is not showing

I am writing to seek assistance with a problem related to Windows Virus and Threat Protection on my PC. Unfortunately, the feature has become invisible, and I am unable to access it.

Issue Details:

• Operating System: Windows 11
  
• Problem: Windows Security (Virus and Threat Protection) is not visible.
  

Steps Taken: I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Restarted my PC.
   
2. Checked Group Policy settings.
   
3. Reset Windows Security app.
   
4. Ran SFC and DISM commands.
   

However, the issue persists. I kindly request your guidance on resolving this matter. Could you please provide instructions or further steps to restore Windows Virus and Threat Protection?

 

Windows Defender Virus and Threat Protection?

I was trying to search for a windows 10 download on google to download the file so i could reinstall windows on my other computer that I want to clean reinstall. I did this on clean computer and went to a site but not sure if that is official site or not as the ending address was different. When I went to windows defender, I noticed instead of it showing Virus and threat protectoin Protection for your device against threats Current Threats Last Scan quick Scan Scan Options Protection History It shows Malwarebytes is turned on Current threats no action needed Protection settings no actions needed Protection updates No actions needed Microsoft Defender Antivirus options You can keep using your current provider, and have microsoft defender antivirus periodically check for threats Periodic scanning OFF Should I be concerned here? How come it looks like this on my clean computer? Did I get infected?
