  1. Can't change require sign-in time period after screen timeout, because of Windows Hello

In Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options, "Require sign-in" is greyed out and locked at "Everytime" because "Windows Hello is preventing some options from being shown".

This has to do with me using a fingerprint to sign-in, if I switch to a PIN instead it is adjustable, so how can one keep using fingerprint but change the timeout period?

Obviously having to log on everytime the screen times out is annoying because as the device in question is a laptop, I set it to a short period (2 minutes), however I want it to lock after 15 minutes instead. Why does this "feature" exist?

Change Lock Screen Display Off Timeout in Windows 10

It won't send you to the lock screen when the timeout has been reached.

Console lock display off timeout is the amount of minutes Windows will wait idle with no activity while on the lock screen when a user locks the computer before timing out and automatically turning off the display.

You might see if these below may be turning off the display instead.
