Windows 10: can't change the use raccount, there is no option to do so at login

I wanted to change my user account name because for some reason microsoft used my email name for it without giving me an option , in order to do so i created a restore point first and then a temporary user account, in the temp account with admin privileges I went in the CMD and did the following : C:\Users>"ren oldname_folder" newnamethen I went to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList and selected the SID value that matched my old foldername then i clicked profileImagepath and changed the old username with the new one, after a reboot i hadthi

We would like to know if you have received any email when you say Microsoft gave me an option to change the login credentials on my Windows 10 computer

Again, please be informed that in order to change the Login ID credentials, you need to access you Microsoft Account at the first place, in this case which would be recovering the Microsoft Account(MSA).

I suggest you to follow the recommended link which was earlier suggested.

Getting back into your Microsoft account if it’s been compromised


Once you recover your MSA, you can refer to the below steps to change the credentials.

• Login to https://login.live.com.
• Specify the current Windows live ID and password in the available fields and click
  Sign in.
• On Microsoft account page, make sure that Overview category is selected from the left pane.
• From the right pane, click Rename account under Account summary.
• From the right pane of the next page, make sure that Create a new email address radio button is selected under
  Rename your Microsoft account.

Ways to bypass the login theme and signin do not work

Tried setting netplwiz in option 1 step 4 which shows no check in users must enter ..... no bypass of login

Tried step 4 in option 5 below to disable require sign-on on wakeup via policy via registry but still no change on wakeup still getting the screen picture that requires hitting Esc to move to the sign in window which shows a silhouette image, my user name and a sign in button in order to access my desktop screen. Guess I will have to live with the extra steps.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to select the appropriate language in login screen at the bottom right corner and check if it helps.

Steps 2: Use On-screen keyboard in the login screen to login and check if it helps.
