Windows 10: Can't change Windows language

Hello,

I'm working on a laptop that I got from my work so it had a pre-installed Windows on it. The Windows language is set in Dutch and I wanted to change this to English (UK) but whenever I do it seems like the Windows language always gets overridden by Dutch.

When you go to "Language settings", on the top you get the option to change the "Windows language" with a dropdown. Although I have added and downloaded the English language pack, "English" is not an option in this dropdown list.

I also tried to force the English language by deleting every other language pack. In this case "English" would be available in the dropdown list with a message "The Windows language will be adjusted once you reboot the system." However, after the reboot, Dutch is back on the menu.

I read somewhere that disabling the Personal Settings Synch. could help but this was already turned off: https://imgur.com/a/8ceo38l (sorry, it is Dutch..)

I am using a Windows 10 Pro version. The computer is installed in my work's domain. I figured this might be the problem but they say that the language doesn't get pushed down from the policy.

Any help or suggestions are well appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Windows 8.1 update changed the language, can't change back

Maybe, these will help... it seems it is a common enough problem.

Language packs are no longer available after you upgrade to Windows 8.1

And, sort of the same here --> Add a language or keyboard

To assist you better I would like to know, what was the base language for your previous Operating system?



I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: Remove the Existing language.

• 
  Press Windows + X on your keyboard.
  
• 
  Select Control panel.
  
• 
  Select language.
  
• 
  Click on the Option adjacent to the
  Existing language.
  
• 
  Click on remove under input method.
  

Step 2: Add English Language.

• 
  Press Windows + X on your keyboard.
  
• 
  Select Control panel.
  
• 
  Select language.
  
• 
  Click on Add language.
  
• 
  Add the English language from the given list.

Language change

It could be that the language pack is missing on your Windows 10 device. With this, we suggest that you try to add the language on your device. Here are the steps:
