Windows 10: Can't connect phone link

I'm dictating this, so blame any typos on Microsoft.I just got a new phone, identical to my old phone. The old phone connected with my computer and phone link recognized it. I have tried everything possible To connect the new phone but nothing works and phone link still shows my old phone as offline. I have tried adding a device via Bluetooth And it appears to pair, but after it shows connected for a few seconds then it says not connected. The link to windows option on my Android phone under settings shows my computer as Linked account. I've tried starting From the aka web pages but that didn

I found out about the problem when I ran games on the phone using Phone Link. Assuming that the PC is connected to the phone with Phone link On the phone if you look at the Bluetooth settings you will see that:

• Calls = Enabled
• Audio = Not available

However, on the PC if you run Bluetooth Audio Receiver and open a connection to the phone then On the phone if you look at the Bluetooth settings you will see that:

• Calls = Enabled
• Audio = Enabled

I have never seen this error.

These suggestions are just ideas

1 Since you started off saying you had "established contact between my PC and MPE and started checking out the many useful services it provides" I wonder if you have since altered anything to do with the connection type [USB / WiFi hotspot / WiFi network / ...].

2 In the instructions listed in that MPE forum link, have you done the procedure in the line "ATTENTION: On Android 4.2.2 and newer the USB-Debugging option is hidden, here is a tutorial how to unlock USB-Debugging for this devices:"? {I've now added this link to the earlier post because I realised that I had referred to it within a general MPE forum link as just some sort of 'info' link even though it was crucial}
3 Connect the phone by USB and check it appears as a drive in File explorer & that you can browse it [you don't need MPE for this to work and any problems would probably mean the correct driver had not been installed]

4 Do you get the same error if the phone is disconnected [i.e. it is a problem on the computer rather than between the computer & the phone]?

5 Does the phone's MPE client start running when you try to run MPE on the computer? Does Google PlayStore show that it needs updating? We used to have to start it separately but mine just starts automatically these days.

6 Do you get the same error whether it is a WiFi connection or USB connection? Or have you only tried USB so far?

Can't "Link to Wndows"

Thanks so much. I will certainly follow your tutorial in the future. I think resetting did the trick, and I was also able to set a pin code. Question. I am confused about one ongoing step: "Go to www.aka.ms/addComputer" in your browser." A search for this, and other similar url's suggested in the Phone LInk setup always ends up the same way, with a trip to nowhere.

Clicking in those types of links end up in a blank tab
