    Can’t connect to my nas

I have an Asus router. An 18tb drive connected to the router. My Xbox series x connects fine and plays movies from it find. My windows laptop can’t. It says path not found. Network discovery is on. The router is set correctly of course. Need help bad. One laptop I had connected to the drive. But one folder that has files in it those files wouldn’t show on that laptop. They show fine in vlc on my Xbox. Then I have this current different laptop. It won’t even connect or see it. The devices show up in network tab on file explorer. But double click to open says path not found. I have no clue.

    :)

Connecting NAS - mapping of drives

Ok, If you want, we can do a step by step troubleshooting of your current situation: If you are able to ping your Machine and it responds. Code:
Try to view if your NAS appears on the Network List: Code:
If Your NAS appears on the list, try to view it: Code:
The available shares will be listed there. Then Try to List the content of one of the directories: Code:
This should list the content of the directory, If all this works Try to map a drive on one share: Code:
Pls reply with the "response" of the first "encounter" of a non positive output. This exercise should reveal if you have a Network or Protocol or Cipher or Authentication problem.

    Windows 10 & NAS Box

    Hi Peter,

A few possible reasons can cause this issue. To help us identify the cause of this problem, we would like to know the following information:

    • How is your NAS box connected to your computer? (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or USB)
    • Are you using a program provided by the manufacturer of your NAS box to access it?
    • Do you receive any error messages when accessing your NAS box? If yes, what is the exact error message?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

In the meantime, we suggest that you perform the solution provided by omiklik (Most Helpful Reply)
in the following thread: Unable to see NAS drive on Network - Win 10 PC.

Keep us updated on the status of the issue, and we will be glad to assist you further.

Connecting NAS - mapping of drives

OK ... step by step all worked. I have now mapped the 2 volumes as Y & Z and can access the files on them Any idea why the Command line would work yet the Easy Find Utility that has worked for years does not ?
