Windows 10: cant connect zebra gk420d to pc it doesnt support bidirectional communication

Trying to connect a Zebra gk420d label printer to Windows 10 pc. The 2 error messages I am getting are: "Printer does not support bidirectional support through the current port." i also cant get the external hardrive to work when plugged in

Bidirectional Support

Since updating to windows 10 I get the message that Bidirectional support is disabled on my Kodak printer. When I go to printer ports to check the box to turn it on it seems OK but the next time I go to print I get the same message again. Any suggestions?

Hi Mark,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Please the follow the below mentioned steps to enable the Enable bidirectional support
option for the Kodak Printer on Windows 10:

* Press Start and type Control Panel
into the search bar and hit Enter

Note: Select ‘View by’ as Large icons
on the control panel page, if incase it is by ‘Category’

* Go to Devices and Printers,right-click on the desired
printer name, then select Printer properties.

* Under ‘Printer properties’, select the Ports tab.

* Select the Enable bidirectional support check box.

* Click OK and check if it works
