Windows 10: Can't contact Microsoft or access Microsoft services / login using Microsoft

Hi, I am having an extremely weird experience with Microsoft. I keep having trouble signing in with a Microsoft account on the PC I just reset windows on windows 10. I was having problems before and I took the opportunity to restore the pc to its original state as to clear any unwanted files I have accumulated over the years and to potentially have my issue fixed. Unfortunately, I feel like I have wasted a lot of time in resetting the PC since now it will not let me access any Microsoft service and won't let me log in using my account.A little bit of context which I find to be quite importan

Microsoft Acquires Multimap

Microsoft Corp. has acquired Multimap, one of the United Kingdom’s top 100 technology companies and one of the leading online mapping services in the world. The acquisition gives Microsoft a powerful new location and mapping technology to complement existing offerings such as Virtual Earth, Live Search, Windows Live services, MSN and the aQuantive advertising platform, with future integration potential for a range of other Microsoft products and platforms. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“The addition of Multimap enhances Microsoft’s position as a leading provider of mapping and location platform services,” said Sharon Baylay, general manager of the Online Services Group at Microsoft. “This acquisition will play a significant role in the future growth of our search business and presents a huge opportunity to expand our platform business beyond the U.K. and globally. One of the best-known online mapping companies worldwide, Multimap provides a publicly available personal mapping service at Bing Karten - Wegbeschreibungen, Reiseplanung, Verkehrskameras und mehr, as well as a range of integrated business services.

Microsoft Acquires PhoneFactor

Microsoft Corp. and PhoneFactor Inc. today announced that Microsoft has acquired PhoneFactor, a recognized leader in multifactor authentication (MFA) solutions.

"The acquisition of PhoneFactor will help Microsoft bring effective and easy-to-use multifactor authentication to our cloud services and on-premises applications," said Bharat Shah, corporate vice president, Server and Tools Division for Microsoft. "In addition, PhoneFactor's solutions will help Microsoft customers, partners and developers enhance the security of almost any authentication scenario."



Founded in 2001, PhoneFactor is trusted by hundreds of leading organizations to help secure millions of logins and transactions each year. By leveraging a device nearly every user already has — a phone — PhoneFactor enables rapid deployment of MFA across a wide range of applications. It already works with many Microsoft products and services, including Outlook Web Access and Internet Information Services, and interoperates with Active Directory.
