Windows 10: Can't copy files from laptop to USB flash drive

Can't copy files from PC Windows 10 laptop to USB drive nor delete file/folders on USB drive. Says I need administrator permission. I am the administrator. I can copy files/folders from USB to desktop.


SD card is formatted for FAT32 so no security tab under properties. Tried device manager and every other suggestion I could find on the internet. Out of options. Need assistance.

Can't transfer or copy files from my laptop to any usb flash drive

My laptop recognizes any flash drive I insert but will not transfer or copy any file or document I want on the flash drive.

I've tried 8 different usb flash drives with it. Same issue. I don't get any error message when this occurs.

I updated the drivers; problem still persists and it's frustrating.

Any help or suggestions will be great. Thank you.

(By the way its a Windows 8.1 powered Dell Inspiron)

 

Copying movie to Flash Drive

One way on how to save and move files to a flash drive is by using the File Explorer in Windows 10. To assist you with your concern, to save your movie file to a flash drive, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Connect your USB flash drive to your PC.
• Navigate to the folder or location where you save your movie files.
• Right-click on the movie file and select
  Copy.
• Right-click on the Start menu, and select
  File Explorer.
• On the left-pane, double-click on This PC.
• Double-click on the drive letter that correspond to your USB flash drive.
• Right-click and select Paste.
• Wait for the process to complete the transfer.
• Once you’re done, you can safely remove your USB flash drive.

You say there is no error, but you don't say how you are doing it.

How to backup files:

Open File Explorer from the Taskbar > Go to the file/s you wish to save > right click on it > hover Mouse Cursor over
Send to > select an external Hard Drive or Memory Stick that you have plugged in to save them to.
