    Can't Customize OEM Information [SOLVED]

I recently built a new computer and I want to add my own custom OEM info.
I created the OEMInformation registry key and added the corresponding string values,
as seen in the screenshot below.

    However,
after adding all my info and re-booting.
No OEM info shows in system properties.
    System properties remains unchanged

I even created a logo and that also doesn't show up.

    Is there something I've overlooked?

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    :)

  3. Register? To be OEM for customization of System Properties Logo, Manufacturer, and Model information

I am running a small business building custom PCs. Having left behind "used parts" builds for PCs with 100% new parts, I need to establish my brand more visibly to my customers as one of my "growth
initiatives." Among many other things, I want to be able to make my own Logo, Manufacturer Name, and Model Number appear in the System Properties window (when you right-click on "This PC" and click properties) and still be able to present the machine to customers
with an "as-new" installation of Windows that they can go through the setup for. I want them to be able to turn it on for the first time and be able to "name" it, and set their user information, give Cortana the yes/no, etc. I would also like to make the
first login screen and the original default wallpaper be images I choose.

--*I DO know how to customize those things once the OS is running and after you
get to the desktop, including using the registry editor for logo, etc. in System Properties*--

One of the things I have tried is to install the OS, make the changes I have described, then use the "Reset this PC" functionality built into Windows to make the machines ready for new customers. Not surprisingly,
this did not work. Is this something I can even do? If so how?

    Hi Brink.

    Yes,
I restarted my machine and the added registry key and it's values seem to have been ignored.
    None of the information,
provided by the registry key were present in system properties.

    @Geosammy
It looks like you and @Brink are at different locations in the Registry.

You should not be in the "Explorer" subkey.

After you set the new registry values, disable Fast Startup in power options and see if they stick after restart.

    Good catch Edwin.

That would definitely be the issue for why it's not working for him.

    Yes,
I'm surprised I didn't notice that as well.
    Thank you for spying that.

Now that I have the registry key and values in the right place,
    it's working.
    Even so,
the .bmp image that I worked so hard to make doesn't show.
    *Sad

Would anyone be willing to try my image as their OEM logo,
to let me know if it works on their machine?

    Sammy,

It looks like the process used with transparency to create the .bmp was the issue. I opened it in Paint (mspaint.exe) and saved it as a .bmp without transparency to have it work afterwards for me.

Here's a modified copy of your .bmp below in a .zip file to see how it works for you now. *Smile
