Windows 10: Can't deactivate my microphone for specific apps

I currently play a game on Steam that uses my microphone by default. The game doesn't allow any option to disable this use, and I tried to set Steam to use a virtual device, but the game still uses my microphone.How can I prevent it from using it without disabling my microphone entirely ? I'd like to be able to play and chat with my friends on Discord without everybody in the game hearing everything going on in my house...I can disable the mic for specific Windows apps, but for the desk apps, I don't have any specific switch, I can only able or disable them all.Thx in advance for your help

How to disable mic access to a specific app

Have you tried this step?

Windows Key+i > Privacy > Microphone > Let apps use my Microphone should be ON/OFF and specific app should be ON/OFF under Choose should be ON and specific app should be ON under Choose apps that can use your Microphone.

 

Camera and Microphone Privacy

This issue occurs due to permission issue, driver issue, license for an app is out of sync with the license installed on the computer or if the app is not updated. To give permission to Camera and Microphone app, you may follow
these steps:

• Go to Settings.
• Select Privacy.
• Look for Camera, make sure that “Let apps use my camera” is turned On. You may choose the apps that can use your camera as well.
• Go back to Privacy and select Microphone, make sure that “Let apps use my microphone” is turned On. You may choose the apps that can use your microphone as well.

Disabling a specific program from accessing my microphone

1. Open the settings app
2. Go to Privacy - Microphone.
3. On the right, disable the toggle switch under Allows apps to access your microphone. When access is allowed for the operating system as described above, all apps get access permissions by default.
   4. In the list below, you can control microphone access for certain apps individually. Every listed app has its own toggle option which you can enable or disable.
