Windows 10: Can't delete any recent items on Taskbar by right click from Word

I ran into this weird question a couple of months ago.I thought it would be gone after a reboot, but noI'm NOT able to delete any recent items on the taskbar from Word. But I AM able to do that by right click on other apps like explorer or notepad I've tried to clear everything from this folder %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations--NO USEI've tried to clear all the history of the most recent items ---NO USEI've tried to disable the function from setting and turn it back on---NO USEHow come?

Recently used file missing when you right click Office 2019 apps pinned to taskbar

We have a virtual environment that we just started testing Office 2019 with on Win10. While the recently used files are there on the start up screen for each office item when you launch them, the recent list is not there when you right click Word/Excel/PowerPoint/etc
from the pinned items on the taskbar.

I have the Start settings set to "on" for "Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or the taskbar and in File Explorer Quick Access". Any other suggestions?

Enable Recent Items Jump Lists in Start but not on the taskbar?

Alright, so in Windows 10 there is the option in Settings under Personalization > Start called "Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or the taskbar". Enabling this turns on Recent Items on programs in the Start menu and on the right-click menu on programs on the task bar. I like having Jump Lists enabled on my Start menu, but I hate having them on the taskbar! When I right-click a program like Chrome or Premiere on the taskbar the Recents list is huge! It towers almost to the top of my 1080p screen and I hate it because I never click any of them!

So I was wondering if there is a registry/group policy edit anywhere that enables Recent Jump Lists on Start but not on the taskbar? I think it's stupid these options aren't separate in the first place!

 

Taskbar recents

I can find no way to clear an entire Recents list or for that matter to turn off Recents associated with taskbar items like MS Word for example. The switch in Settings/Personalization/Start does not do it.

Also, no way to reorder the pinned items in these lists. These simply appear in the order they were pinned.
