Windows 10: Can't detect any internet connection

A day or two after my touchpad setting became missing I have yet to fix this due to my schedule, now my laptop can't detect any internet whatsoever. I tried shutting on and off, restarting it, force shutting down, and it didn't work. It can't detect any shred of internet, saying there aren't any connections available even though there are. This also applies to mobile hotspots and other internet connections. This all started after I tried to update something that my laptop said was pending an update. I don't remember the name but it had the word Intel in it, and it said that it was updated right after I manually updated it I had an update schedule set but it didn't update it for unknown reasons so I decided to do it myself since I had the time, but somehow I couldn't find it in my updates history.

What do you mean by not detected, that you are not able to get an Internet connection or that that connection icon doesn't show up but you can still access the Internet? Also, what OS are you using? (XP SP3)

Maybe Windows enabled the firewall for the LAN device (sometimes the firewall causes more problems than it solves), and if you are using a router (with NAT) you can safely turn off Windows firewall for that device only, you can do this by performing the following changes:

• Leave Windows Firewall turned On
  
  
  
• And now Disable it for the LAN only (un-checked box):
  
  
  

Other solution might be related to DHCP, and that depends if you had a static IP addresses on your computer or the router assigned you an IP address via DHCP. You might wanna check out this related thread

Software does not detect internet connection

A proprietary software does not detect internet connection even though internet connection is available.

Internet is working, but this proprietary software will not detect internet connection even after re-installation.

I tried network troubleshooter and tried network reset on Windows 10, no good.

This issue does not happen on all Windows 10 Pro computers.

What steps can I try to resolve the issue?
