Windows 10: Can't disable log-in password

Went from windows 10 to 11. I log on my microsoft account and today when i logged into my computer that only I use, it asked me for my microsoft account password. I do not want any kind of password on my computer, so I tried to find a solution. I opened netplwiz, selected my user but the checkbox "User must enter a user name and password to use this computer" is not there, so I went to disable windows Hello in the sign-in options but the little on/off switch was grayed out, and under it said to set up windows hello which is kinda weird since i'm not interested at all, so I went and set up

How to disable password at log on?

To assist you better, I would like to know whether you are logging in with Microsoft account.

If you are using the Microsoft account to log in, I would like to inform you that it is not possible to sign into Windows without the password.

However, you may create a local account/user account and use that account to sign in, so that it will not ask you for the password when signing in.

I suggest you to refer to the article created by Andre da Costa
(MVP, Community Moderator & Wiki Author) and check if you are able to retrieve the files that are missing from the computer.

Redirecting

Once you have created a local account, Please follow the below steps, if you would like sign in to a user account without password.

• 
  Press Windows
  + R.
  
• 
  Type netplwiz.exe
  
• 
  Uncheck this box “Users must enter a username and password to use this computer” and press apply.
  
• 
  Automatically sign in password box prompts. Write your Password twice and press OK.

• Have you tried typing the password with On-Screen keyboard?

I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: On-Screen Keyboard

You may use the accessibility options to pop open a on-screen keyboard and type the password from there to make sure you are typing the correct password.

Step 2:

If you see your email address listed there, it must be a Microsoft account. You will be able to reset the password and log in if your PC is connected to internet.

Disabling need to change log in password periodically

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft community.

I suggest you to follow the below methods for disabling the option password expires and check if it helps.

• Right click on the “windows start icon” and click on
  “computer management”.
• Expand “local users and groups” and click on “users” option.
• On the screen you will find all the user accounts that are in your computer, I suggest you to select the appropriate
  user account that you need to disable the password expire option.
• Double click on the user account and you will get a new Window, there check the box
  “Password never expires” option.
• Click on “Apply” and then “Ok”.
