    Can't Disable Password


    Okay, I really am worried about speaking to the customer support itself or the assistance of the community, but I'm out of options. I sometimes am just completely unable to log-in. It says the password has been input too many times even if I've only done it once. So I've tried removing my password, and there's no way to. It tells me that the serial number for the laptop is incorrect even if I am getting the serial number SN for the laptop from the laptop itself. I had a stroke a few years ago, and I need a laptop for schooling online. I have autism so before the stroke, that was the option I

    Hi,

    About your concern with typing the password after being idle, it is actually recommended to activate for security reasons.

    If you wish to disable it, I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    • Go to Settings.
    • Click on Accounts.
    • Click on Sign in options.
    • On the right side, you will see required sign in.
    • Change it to Never.

    • Are you logged in with a local account or Microsoft account?
    • Have you tried typing the password with On-Screen keyboard?
    I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if it helps.

    Step 1: On-Screen Keyboard

    You may use the accessibility options to pop open a on-screen keyboard and type the password from there to make sure you are typing the correct password.

    If the issue persists,

    Step 2:

    If you see your email address listed there, it must be a Microsoft account. You will be able to reset the password and log in if your PC is connected to internet.
