Windows 10: Can't download any pgms using Windows 10. Have tried many things, diff browsers, clearing...

I have tried so many suggestions including using different browsers, clearing cache, using safe mode etc but nothing helps. 1 msg I get is just failed, 1 other msg says I don't have permission I am logged on as administrator, & if I run it from the downloads file as administrator I get another msg saying the software isn't compatible! It is Norton & I have downloaded it before no problem. I also tried downloading another software pgm anti-virus which also failed. I have a feeling there's something maybe in the registry missing or else something I can't identify that's causing the

Download issue with Edge browser

We appreciate you for being part of Windows 10.

I understand that you are not able to download any files through EDGE browser.

Follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1:

I suggest you clear the Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

• Click on the More actions (…) icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
• Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
• Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:

• 
  Open the Task manager. Here’s a tip: Press CTRL+Shift+ESC.
  
• 
  Right click on Microsoft EDGE.
  
• 
  Go to details click on microsoftedgeCP.exe and click
  end task.
  

You have to repeat it few times it worked for me hope it will help you to reset the Microsoft edge browser.

The download option will be available on the EDGE browser at the top right corner. Click on Hub (three horizontal symbol) and click on Downloads, there you will be able to click on Downloads folder and check where the download
files are getting saved.

Windows 10 forced download

I actually had a client call yesterday with an email problem. when I tried walking him through some steps, he says "Yeah, I don't see that there, but I think it's because it's updated to windows 10. It did that a few weeks ago. I came back in on Monday, and it said Welcome to Windows 10"..... I think I'd throw the computer out the window.

Let's assume the former, as most people just refer to any internet / web browser as just a "browser" and few think about the other things (like Windows Explorer) as "browsers", although that is what they are/what they do.

• Select Clear all history.
• Choose the types of data you want to remove from your PC, then select Clear.
• If you use Cortana and want to clear browsing history that's stored in the cloud, select Change what Microsoft Edge knows about me in the cloud, then select Clear browsing history.
