Windows 10: Can't drag & drop to anything except another explorer window

[Win10 1909]

Worked yesterday, went to bed, woke up ... and now I can no longer drag & drop to anything except from explorer to explorer.

For example, i open chrome and go to Imgur to add a pic. Normally I will drag the file and drop it on the webpage. Now I just get a black circle with a line through it. Same with attempting to drag a pic into Steam chat, something i've done a thousand times.

I've rebooted. I've tried different browsers. Tried a different mouse.

Any help would be much appreciated!

the steps you suggested didn't work for me but, when pressing the escape key it somehow expanded the drive and by using drag and drop to the single file in the list worked.

In the past I could drag and drop multiple folders onto the drive on the network computer(s). Doing it on individual folders will take far too long and time consuming and is not an option.

Microsoft should be able to identify what is blocking it and issue a fix.

My machine is multi boot so tomorrow I will try with Windows 7.
