    Can't Enable Bluetooth

I recently purchased a Canon printer, which has wireless capability. The problem is, I can't find a way to enable bluetooth on my PC.
. I don't find any tile or button I can click on to do so. I assume my PC has bluetooth capability, but not sure about that (don't most modern laptops have bluetooth?) Any thoughts? Thanks.

  2. Bluetooth and Blueant

Just bought a Blueant S4 handsfree device. If I turn it on with bluetooth enabled on the Nokia Lumia 920 it pairs but can't use voice activation. If I enable bluetooth on the 920 after the Blueant is on, it works fine ???

I tried my old N95 and that works ok either way!!!!

Bluetooth Adapter on Windows 10 Not Working

    Hello,

I tried to pair bluetooth on my computer with a USB Bluetooth adapter (which I have updated the drivers and enabled it).

The adapter was detected from Windows 10 Pro, but in the Windows settings,

I can't find the bluetooth enable/diseable button and also, in the adapter settings,

it can detect the device, but won't pair at all and it taking too much time.

    Can somebody help?

    Hi Mr Ed.

Which Canon printer did you buy?

Most are not Bluetooth, they connect to your router using the same wireless that a laptop would, most on the 2.4Ghz band. Yours could be bluetooth and I could be wrong.

A lot require you to setup connected to your computer with a USB cable. In these cases the install gets the info from your computer or it asks you for information. (Network name and password) Once wireless is enabled you pull the cable when instructed.

Before you proceed lets understand what Canon printer you bought? I will also assume you have a wireless router, correct?

Thanks, both of you. I think Winuser clinched it. I took it for granted my PC had Bluetooth. Evidently, it doesn't. Dumb me for not checking. It's no big deal. The printer works fine via USB connection. BTW, the printer is Canon PIXMA MG3022. Can't complain, I paid only $30 for it at Walmart. I let Windows set it up via the USB connection and all is well. Thanks again.

  7. Your printer is wireless and will connect to a suitable router. ( Just checked ) The printer does not have Bluetooth, it is standard wireless, 2.4 Ghz. ( the most common ).

Connected to your router all devices will have access to it including the ability to use Google remote print.

If you want to set it up wireless sure the forum can help.

    Can't Enable Bluetooth

The Pixma MG3022 has USB, Ethernet and Wireless.
To use Wireless just connect up to your Wireless Access Point. Anything connected to that WAP/Router can use the printer.

Neither the Printer nor Laptop has Bluetooth, however that is totally irrelevant.

You could try clicking "Forget" for unknown networks which enables your printer finding your network easier.
Go to Settings, Network and Internet, click WiFi and select "Manage known Networks" in the right pane click any unknown networks and select "Forget", reboot and the printer will find your network.

I should clarify that I don't use a router. I always use the WiFi available at this apartment bldg. Anyhow, it doesn't matter much. The printer works fine via USB. Thanks again to all. I'm still learning.

Well, that Canon copier broke down mechanically pretty quickly (paper feed). So, I returned it and ordered an HP printer instead. I've used HP before and was satisfied. I won't use it wirelessly, but USB connected instead.

Hah! The HP printer didn't work for me either, so I bought the cheapest Canon copier ($20) at Walmart. It installed easily and works well so far. It also fits better on my small table. At that price it's almost worth buying a new printer when it comes time to replace ink cartridges. *Wink

When you said the HP printer didn't work, it didn't work as a wired USB printer? Interesting.

Yes printers are cheap but don't confuse the starter cartridges with the full replacement cartridge. They are there just to get you hooked.

That's right, Ken. The HP printer was attached to my laptop via USB. It would start to work, maybe print a page or two, and then there would by problems with either paper feed, or no print at all. I spent an entire day, even getting an HP tech involved. It finally came to the point where I had enough. Funny that my old printer was a $20 HP brand that lasted for years.
As far as the cartridges go, the first thing I do when I consider a new printer is check the prices. The price was pretty good for my current cheap printer. Yes, I'm familiar with tactics employed by these printer mfgs. That's where their money is. Not surprisingly, there are numerous outfits that offer to refill your cartridges, or sell equipment for do-it-yourselfers.
BTW, my printers get very light usage. All I do is occaional regular B&W printing, no photos or anything like that.

  15. Yea nothing is made the way it use to be. Had an old HP laser, ran for 20 years. I got rid of it because of the parallel port not because it wouldn't print.
