Windows 10: Can't enable game bar

    Can't enable game bar


    For some odd reason, I cant enable game bar. Whenever I enable it in settings it disables itself. Here are the following things I have tried:

    • resetting game bar and xbox app
    • reinstalling all xbox packages
    • resetting pc kept files but reset all settings and deleted apps
    • updating game bar and all other xbox apps Game Bar Plugin, Game Bar, Xbox Live, Identity Provider

    Just a bit more info, quite a bit of time ago, it worked, I have searched for a solution at least once a month but haven't found a solution to this issue.

    want to open game bar, but win+G repeatedly asks if "want to open game bar?"

    I suggest you to try the troubleshooting steps listed in fix problems with Game bar
    on Windows 10     and check if it works.

    Hiding New Game Bar when Recording

    Hi LeviathanTheEsper,

    Normally, You can play your games while recording it in the background. It seems that background recording is not enabled on your computer that's why the Game bar is showing up when playing your games. Let's check if background recording is enabled by performing
    the following steps:

    1. Press the Windows key, then select the gear icon to access Settings.
    2. Go to Gaming.
    3. Select Game DVR.
    4. Under Background Recording, check if the toggle switch is enabled.
