Windows 10: Can't encrypt files

Discus and support Can't encrypt files in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; I've tried NtfsDisableEncryption, and i've started the EFS service from Services.msc.Whatever I do, I can't encrypt my file.Can someone help me?I can't...     Can't encrypt files


    I've tried NtfsDisableEncryption, and i've started the EFS service from Services.msc.Whatever I do, I can't encrypt my file.Can someone help me?I can't insert an image for some reason, but the option is greyed out.A piece of info that might help that all my files are read-only? I don't know why that is, but I haven't been able to change that.

    Hi Iman,

    Error message 0x80071771 means that you need to restore the file encryption key in order for you to decrypt the encrypted files. On the other hand, you can still try these steps and see if it will work:

    • Right-click the file or folder that you want to decrypt.
    • Click File ownership and click Personal.

    My suggestion to you is to look into what kind of encryption the program used, and look for a way to break that type of encryption. Sorry I can't say a specific program for sure.
