Windows 10: Can't exit safe mode in Windows 10 - no network

Hello, I really need your help with this one.



I have an HP laptop with Windows 10. Lately I was having problems connecting to the internet. For some reason I cannot access internet. Networking hardware is working and I can even ping internet places (such as www.google.com and www.microsoft.com) but the explorers do not show anything. I do not have any extra firewall software installed, and in these forums, I was advised to start computer in safe mode and try uninstalling antivirus software that may be causing the issue.

Now the real problem is that when I restart the computer in safe mode I was asked the password of the microsoft account. I usually log in with PIN and fingerprint scan, but these will not work in safe mode. I cannot remember the password of the account. I tried with old passwords I remember but with no effect. I also tried to update my password online from other computer, but It did not work, since the laptop wont connect to the internet to see the updated password.

Finally I tried restoring OS, but even that will not work since it asks me to choose the local account and insert the password (that I don’t remember) to continue.

Note that I am not asking a way to bypass password security, I just want to exit safe mode.



Please is there a way to exit safe mode, so I can login with PIN?

I suggest you to try the below steps to exit from the Safe mode on Windows 10.

Steps to place the computer in normal mode.

• Press Windows + R keys to open
  Run command.
• Type msconfig and press
  Enter.
• In the System Configuration window, click on
  General tab.
• Select Start-up selection as
  Normal startup, click on Apply
  and Ok.
• Follow onscreen instructions.

We understand that you're having issue starting your computer in normal mode. Having said that, you may want to try the steps below on how you can exit safe mode in Windows 10:

• To exit Safe Mode, open the System Configuration tool by opening the Run command or pressing
  Windows key + R together and typing msconfig then Ok.
• Tap or click the Boot tab, uncheck the Safe boot box, hit
  Apply, and then Ok. Restarting your machine will exit Safe mode.

Stuck in safe mode in windows 10

Safe mode is intended to help fix most, if not all problems within an operating system, it's not good if we got stuck on it. To correct this, we suggest that you follow the steps below to exit out of Safe mode:

• Open Run command by pressing Windows key + R
  keys on the keyboard and type msconfig in the command box and press
  Enter.
• Under General tab, put a check on Normal Startup option.
• Reboot the system and check if the changes are effective.
