    I've been using Windows 10 for a while and I've been able to send and receive FAXs with it during that time. Lately, when I try to send a FAX, I'm presented with the error message "The message could not be sent. The media is write protected". I've used this program many times successfully and now I'm hit with this error.


    So, I went back to my old Windows 7 machine and tried to send the same FAX... it worked perfectly with the same configuration as I used in Windows 10. Same modem, same attachments and same address.


    I hate to think I can't send/receive Faxes with Windows 10... That would be a real downer.


    I've tried rebooting and reinstalling my drivers and even uninstalling and reinstalling the modem. Nothing seems to work.


    Any help would be appreciated.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
